We understand that information is critical to our customers in making sound business
decisions. Having reliable industry and market share knowledge is crucial. That's
why we compile and release The Skelton Sherborne Shipping Index every month. It
is a lag indicator to the state of the mining and construction industries by way
of the import activity into Australia. There is virtually no Australian manufacturing
of this equipment any longer.
Skelton Sherborne is the world’s largest international freight forwarder of mining
and construction equipment. We are the choice of the industry’s leading manufacturers,
dealers, contractors and auctioneers to move their equipment safely, on time and
on budget. We compile the Skelton Sherborne Shipping Index from Australian Bureau
of Statistics data and our own import data.
The equipment types included in the index are:
Bulldozers, dump trucks, graders, mobile cranes, tracked cranes, excavators and
draglines >12t, excavators < 12t, scrapers, wheeled dozers, wheel loaders, tracked
loaders, crushers, screeners, compactors, tree fellers and harvesters, bitumen mixing
plants/machines, road making/paving and other public works equipment, other earthmoving
machines. New and used.
The Skelton Sherborne Shipping index will be released at the end of every month
showing the previous month’s data with a short commentary. You can subscribe to
our News Feed to be automatically notified by RSS or email whenever the Skelton
Sherborne Shipping Index is released.
